THE PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITY

Microsoft Instructional Skills Course | Become a Certified Trainer: Develop Portable Professional Instructor Capability

If you are searching for a Microsoft instructional skills course, you are already thinking about something important: how to move beyond knowing the technology and become more effective at developing other people.

Professional context

The Microsoft MCT pathway has changed. The professional need behind instructional skills has not. Today's cross-platform, cross-functional workplace makes those capabilities even more valuable.

Practical application

For many years, instructional-skills development helped technical professionals prepare for the professional teaching responsibilities associated with the Microsoft Certified Trainer environment.

Knowledge transfer

FDTEC spent more than two decades developing professionals within that ecosystem.

Career opportunity

The real value was developing the ability to communicate clearly, facilitate learning, present confidently, ask better questions, coach effectively, manage learning environments, solve problems, and transfer technical expertise.

FCI develops 15 transferable professional instructor competencies: communication, active listening, facilitation, emotional intelligence, presentation, questioning, classroom management, conflict resolution, executive presence, coaching, feedback, adaptability, critical thinking, problem solving, and knowledge transfer.

Applying Instructor Capability in This Professional Context

If you are searching for a Microsoft instructional skills course, you are already thinking about something important: how to move beyond knowing the technology and become more effective at developing other people.

If you are searching for a Microsoft instructional skills course, you are already thinking about something important: how to move beyond knowing the technology and become more effective at developing other people.

The Microsoft MCT pathway has changed. The professional need behind instructional skills has not. Today's cross-platform, cross-functional workplace makes those capabilities even more valuable.

For many years, instructional-skills development helped technical professionals prepare for the professional teaching responsibilities associated with the Microsoft Certified Trainer environment.

FDTEC spent more than two decades developing professionals within that ecosystem.

The real value was developing the ability to communicate clearly, facilitate learning, present confidently, ask better questions, coach effectively, manage learning environments, solve problems, and transfer technical expertise.

Those capabilities are now useful far beyond one vendor, one classroom, or one certification program.

Brand recognition is one thing. Twenty-five-plus years of professional instructor-development experience is another.

More Than Two Decades Developing the People Behind Technology Learning.

FDTEC began developing professional instructors in 1999 and spent more than two decades working within the Microsoft/MCT ecosystem.

Before Microsoft moved its instructional-skills function in-house, FDTEC had become the longest-serving provider of MCT instructional-skills certification.

That experience gave us the opportunity to work with technical professionals who knew their subject matter—but needed an entirely different set of capabilities to successfully develop other people.

Knowing the technology and teaching the technology are two different professional capabilities.

That distinction is as important today as it was when FDTEC began in 1999.

A Course Can Teach Instructional Skills. Professional Instructor Development Builds Capability That Can Move With You.

The difference matters because your career will probably extend far beyond one course, one certification, one employer, or one technology ecosystem.

That question focuses on completing a defined learning requirement.

That question focuses on developing professional capability with long-term value.

A course has an end date. Professional capability can travel with you for the rest of your career.
