The resources professional instructors need today should help them build capability that moves across technologies, roles, clients, and organizations—not simply support one designation.

The original MCT Store reflected an earlier chapter of FDTEC's work supporting Microsoft Certified Trainers.

FDTEC's professional instructor-development work has now expanded beyond resources centered on a single vendor designation.

If you arrived here looking for MCT-related professional development, you are still in the right place to understand FDTEC's history and explore the professional capabilities that made instructional skills valuable in the first place.

But the modern resource center is built around a larger question:

How can professionals develop the capability to make their expertise understandable, transferable, applicable, and valuable to other people—regardless of which technology ecosystem they work in?

From Supporting a Designation to Developing Professional Capability.

A resource built around Microsoft Certified Trainers and an important professional instructor ecosystem that FDTEC supported for decades.

Its audience came to FDTEC primarily through Microsoft, MCT, instructional skills, and technical trainer development.

Resources for instructors, technical professionals, consultants, facilitators, coaches, subject-matter experts, implementation professionals, leaders, and organizations.

The focus is professional capability that can move across ecosystems and professional roles.

FDTEC has been developing the people behind technology learning since 1999.

Microsoft and the MCT community became an important part of that history. Before Microsoft moved its instructional-skills function in-house, FDTEC had become the longest-serving provider of MCT instructional-skills certification.

That experience reinforced a lesson that reaches far beyond Microsoft:

Knowing the technology and successfully developing the people who must understand and use the technology are different professional capabilities.

Technologies change. Certifications change. Employers change. The need to communicate, facilitate, coach, solve problems, engage people, and transfer expertise remains.
