Azure AZ-104 and MCT Training. Professionals holding the Azure Administrator Associate certification have subject matter expertise implementing, managing, and monitoring an organization’s Microsoft Azure environment. Holders of this certification will qualify for MCT Training. You can leverage your earnings and gain career flexibility as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. The average pay for an Azure admin is around $50 a hour. While the average pay for a MCT teaching Azure AZ-104 is around $100 a hour.

The purpose of this article is to identify those area’s where holders of Azure AZ-104 certified professionals can combine their certification with MCT Training. First, we will examine the task associated with Azure Administration, and then we will look at the steps to become a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).

The Roles of Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate.

Manage Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) objects
Their role include implementing, managing, and monitoring identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment, plus provision, size, monitor, and adjust resources, when needed.

Most Azure administrator often serves as part of a larger team dedicated to implementing an organization’s cloud infrastructure.

Professionals have between 6 months and 1 year of experience administering Azure, along with a strong understanding of core Azure services, Azure workloads, security, and governance. In addition, this role should have experience using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Azure portal, and Azure Resource Manager templates. Some of their task include Manage Azure identities and governance. This requires creating users, groups and admin units. They also manage user and group properties, provide user updates, guest accounts, passwords and devices. Azure administrators determine who gets access to resources, and what the scope of that access is.

Manage subscriptions and governance.

As an Azure Admin, you will configure Azure policies, resource locks, apply and manage tags on resources, manage resource groups, manage subscriptions, manage costs, and configure management groups

Implement and manage storage
Azure Admins are tasked with securing storage and configuring network access to storage accounts. They create and configure storage accounts generate shared access signature (SAS) tokens manage access keys configure Azure AD authentication for a storage account. They must also configure access to Azure Files, Manage storage export from Azure job import into Azure job install and use Azure Storage Explorer copy data by using AZ-Copy. All this while implementing Azure Storage replication, configure blob object replication. Deploy and manage Azure compute resources
Azure Administrators must Automate deployment of virtual machines (VMs) by using Azure Resource Manager templates. You are expected to modify an Azure Resource Manager template, configure a virtual hard disk (VHD) template, and deploy from a template. Admins must save a deployment as an Azure Resource Manager template, deploy virtual machine extensions, Configure VMs configure. You should understand Azure Disk Encryption, move VMs from one resource group to another, and manage VM sizes. Azure admins add data disks configure networking, redeploy VMs, and configure high availability. They must deploy and configure virtual machine scale sets, Create and configure containers, configure sizing and scaling for Azure Container. There will be Instances to configure container groups for Azure Container Instances, configure storage for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). You should be prepared to configure scaling for AKS configure network connections for AKS upgrade an AKS cluster Create and configure Azure App Service create an App Service, plan and configure scaling settings in an App Service. Plan and create an App Service, secure an App Service, configure custom domain names, configure backup for an App Service, configure networking settings, and configure deployment settings

Configure and manage virtual networking.
Admins can Implement and manage virtual networking, create and configure virtual networks, including peering configure private and public IP addresses configure user-defined network routes, implement subnets, configure endpoints on subnets, configure private endpoints, configure Azure DNS, including custom DNS settings and private or public DNS zones.
They should have an understanding of Securing access to virtual networks, creating security rules, associating a network security group (NSG) to a subnet or network interface. They must be able to evaluate effective security rules, implement Azure Firewalls, and implement Azure Bastion Configure load balancing. They can Configure Azure Application Gateway, configure an internal or public load balancer troubleshoot load balancing.

Monitor and troubleshoot virtual networking
You be aware of the tools to monitor on-premises connectivity, configure and use Azure Monitor for Networks, use Azure Network Watcher, troubleshoot external networking, troubleshoot virtual network connectivity, Integrate an on-premises network with an Azure virtual network, and create and configure Azure VPN Gateway. You should also be able to create and configure Azure ExpressRoute configure Azure Virtual WAN.

Monitor and back up Azure resources.
Administrator of Azure Monitor resources by using Azure Monitor, configure and interpret metrics, configure Azure Monitor logs query, and analyze logs. They set up alerts and actions, configure Application Insights, Implement backup and recovery. They are required to create a Recovery Services vault, create a Backup vault, create and configure backup policy, perform backup and restore operations by using Azure Backup. Admins must perform site-to-site recovery by using Azure Site Recovery configure and review backup reports.

Steps to MCT Certification

Over the years we have had many questions on how to become a Microsoft Certified Trainer. There are many opinions on how to get this coveted certification. We will layout the facts on obtaining MCT Certification.

Step # 1

If you are seeking to become a MCT the first step is to Obtain A Qualifying Microsoft Certification. Click here for the certification that Microsoft accepts to qualify for MCT Certification.

Okay, now that you are clear on the certifications that qualify for MCT status, you will need to.

Step # 2

attend an Instructional Skills course from an approved provider of MCT Instructional Skills Certification. Be aware that you only need one of the qualifying certifications that you verified on the qualifying course list. The reason we want to clarify is, that many times we have students ask if they need all the certifications on the list.  Remember you only need one qualifying certification.

Steps # 3

Next you must attend a Fourth Dimension Technologies, Inc. Instructional Skills Course. We have 3 paths to choose from. The first and most popular path is our self-study course. This course is designed for active or working adults. Active adults do not always have the time to take a traditional class. They lack the time to take a class that requires 2-3 days to complete. Our self-study course allows you to take the course at your own pace. This course can be completed in a few days. You could also take a month or more to complete the course. Since we designed this course for working adults, we added some things for your convenience. First we have added a final exam. The final exam must be completed in 2 hours. You can take it multiple times at no additional cost if you do not pass on your first attempt. You need 65% for a passing score. The exam consists of 50 questions.

If you desire a more traditional experience, you should choose our Virtual Instructor-Led online delivery method. This course has proven an excellent choice for Microsoft professionals that are in different regions of the world. This course is scheduled to run on U.S Eastern Standard Time and European time. The course is designed to be completed in 2-3 days. There is no final exam required for this course.

Lastly, if you desire an in-person course this is the offering for you. This course is not offered regularly due to the recent covid-19 pandemic. We also limit the class side with this offering. Students will not exceed 10 per session. This course is delivered in a brick-and-mortar environment. The course is designed to complete over 2-3 days.

So now that you know that you must follow 2-3 steps to qualify for the MCT Certification. A qualifying Microsoft Certification. And  Attend a Fourth Dimension Technologies, Inc. approved Instructional Skills course. You will be issued a Certificate of Completion from Fourth Dimension Technologies, Inc. You must Provide Microsoft a copy of our Certificate of Completion. This is done by uploading your certificate through the MCT enrollment tool. You must go to the online application which is accessed through the MCT Enrollment tool. Use the online tool for the following: Review the MCT program requirements and sign the MCT Program Guide and AgreementYour electronic signature validates your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions of the MCT Agreement. May sure you follow this step.

Step # 4

The next step is simply to update your profile information. The contact information that you provide is used for MCT communications. The MCT Program team are Microsoft personal dedicated to the MCT community. It is important that you provide current information to take up to date on newsletters, events, and discounts. We will discuss some of the benefits of MCT certification in another article.

Step # 5

During the enrollment process, specify your employment status. If you are employed by a Learning Partner or a Microsoft Imagine Academy, you need your employer’s Learning Partner or Microsoft Imagine Academy ID number. Providing your employer MCID allows for discount on MCT enrollment fees if your organization qualifies.

Step # 6

You then select your payment method. Program fees vary, depending on your country/region and employment status. Let’s talk about the MCT Application fees. You must pay the any Microsoft fees associated with the processing and activation of your MCT.

The good news. As of this writing. December 9, 2021, Microsoft has waived the MCT application fee. This waiver is in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Be aware this can change at any time. Currently the waiver is scheduled to run at least through December 31st, 2021. What does the fee waiver mean for you? The average cost of MCT certification is $2,400 in the U.S. and EU3,200 for EU. Couple this with the application fee of $1,000 U.S. and EU900 and you will pay $3,400-EU4,100 for your MCT.
